  • Examine current SEO performance, traffic sources, and potential for growth in new markets. What are the advertising costs and are they value for money?

  • Assess the technology stack, signup to the services and check they work well. Is the source code owned or is this a take on white label software?

  • Can this be easily translated & rebranded for international markets?

  • Deep dive into the competition… Does this business have a unique selling point that can compete?

  • Do you understand the technology enough to run the business? If not, how easy/costly would it be to hire someone or can you negotiate enough training after handover to get you by?

My Checklist:

  • Verify the impressive turnover through backend website revenue reports and Stripe/Paypal Statements.

  • Assess the performance and ROI of current digital marketing campaigns and the potential for scaling these efforts. Verify current ad spend via advertising account reports(eg. Meta/adwords).

  • Does the dropshipper have more lighting products to add? Are there other types of product you could expand into?

  • Check that sales are growing…Is there any seasonality to sales?

  • Search online for review accounts, what are they like?

  • Does dropshipper accept returns? What is the returns and refund rate?

  • Evaluate the competition, do they sell the same products? How does the pricing compare?

  • Ensure that all Social and ad accounts will be transferred.

Although traffic dipped after a Google update, things have stabilized in the past five months, and the site remains profitable through Amazon Associates and Mediavine ads.

Revenue comes from affiliate commissions and ads, with trusted, high-quality content keeping readers engaged. Despite the traffic drop, the site is positioned for future growth, especially for someone with SEO and digital marketing skills.

Since launching in 2019, this job portal and educational site in India has gained a huge following, attracting 1 million page views a month and 6,000-10,000 new visitors daily. Its revenue comes from Google Adsense and affiliate marketing.

The site combines useful content for job seekers with advertising and affiliate deals. It boasts India’s largest LinkedIn page with 8 million followers and a Telegram group of 100,000+ members. Its infrastructure and analytics handle the traffic smoothly.

To grow, add new revenue streams like sponsored content or premium memberships. Expand internationally, broaden content, and improve marketing, SEO, and user experience with AI tools. Partnering with educational institutions or agencies can further boost growth.

My Checklist:

  • Verify traffic statistics and user engagement metrics via Google Analytics. Check where all traffic comes from? Does it corelate with the Business Listing stats?

  • It doesn’t appear that there’s any language requirement other than English to run this website, is this correct?

  • Assess current revenue streams and evaluate potential for expanding monetization options. Check Ad account reports for revenue.

  • Spend some time using the website, checking its overall user experience and how utilised it is by users.

  • Analyze the effectiveness and reach of social media accounts, particularly the LinkedIn and Telegram platforms. Will they be included?

  • Understand the market position. Can this platform compete? Are there any obvious opportunities/niches that could be dominated?
